Peter Long is an Australian singer and songwriter, hailing originally from Adelaide in South Australia but now based in The Blue Mountains, west of Sydney. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist and current performing member of the infamous Spooky Men's Chorale, he has drawn upon many years of recording and performing experience to realise his first solo venture, Midday Sun: an album of broad soundscapes and vistas, taking in influences from 1960's pop and psychedelia through to latin rhythms, Americana and electronica.
Mixed by Steve Fieldhouse (The Superjesus, Hilltop Hoods, Gyuto Monks of Tibet, The Waifs) and mastered by legendary mastering engineer Don Bartley, Midday Sun delves into themes of love, lust and betrayal, barren wastelands and the fever of an Australian summer.
"Throughout, it's obvious Long has a solid hold of his material and a focus to match, realising each song with such an eye for detail the whole thing just shimmers in your ears, the way it does in all the classic pop albums from Revolver on." - Michael Smith, The Drum Media
"...His arrangements have an almost transcendental aura about them. Breezy choruses, fuzzy guitars and reverb-assisted psychedelic swirls recall a '60's vibe (with) a touch of modern, edgy indie-ness.." - Paul Smith, Sydney Morning Herald
